THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
Unfailing Presence was inspired by an image I saw unfold of an angel warrior battling the spiritual realm here on earth; a vision which came to me one morning during my daily journaling. I saw this image while I was worshipping, raising a Hallelujah, reflecting on the Lord's unfailing love for us.
Echoing the words of David in a song he wrote recorded in the book of Psalm 5:
“But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them sing joyful praises forever.
Spread your protection over them,
that all who love your name may be filled with joy.For you bless the godly, O Lord;
you surround them with your shield of love.”
It’s comforting to know that the Lord sees us, He spreads a shield of love over us as we walk through life’s greatest joys and hardest disappointments; we can continue to put one foot in front of the other knowing His angels are battling alongside us as His love carries us through those times.
The image of the angel with staff and shield leaves me mindful of John the Baptist who prepared the way for Jesus to begin His ministry. As an artist I feel I am called to bring images of heaven to earth as a reminder of God’s amazing love for us in all times; His unfailing love remains constant.
