I've loved creating art as long as I can remember; when I was 4 years old, I recall asking my dad to build an art easel for me so I could “paint like mom”. I can still remember the excitement of that first day in the front yard, easel in place, bare feet in the cool summer grass, lifting my paint-filled brush to the paper for the first time.

As I grew, quiet afternoons I could be found sitting alongside the bookshelf, flipping through pages of musty art books, drinking in the color-filled pages; from French Impressionists to Spanish Surrealists, this was where my early art inspirations were born, which eventually led into my dream of becoming an artist when I grew up.

For many artists, this early excitement over time is replaced by self-criticism and discouragement.

As I entered the world of classical art realism courses in 8th grade, my first experience with the ‘Imposter Syndrome” occurred. I was forced to reach deep within, pressing through to find a way to create realism without any prior formal training.

My success which began to form during that experience, continued to build as I enrolled in classical training in art college and graduate school, enabling me to find success working in figurative realism.

Over the years I began to use these methods with my students; my step-by-step teaching process became a proven path and blueprint for empowering young artists to excel, moving forward, bringing quick results to students of all ages.

As an artist, I know the challenges of running a business with art-making and art teaching, while keeping fresh that early joy of standing before my first easel. I still can be found flipping through art books or leaning way too close to museum art masterpieces, creating along with the artists as I follow the brush strokes and surface markings.

I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring artists over many years now, guiding them into safe harbor where the self-critic is silenced, realism skills excel, and unique personal art style comes to life, resulting in increased studio productivity!

In 2006 I launched my local studio Mosaic Arts Loft which included a working art studio space, an art gallery, and a teaching studio.

I created artworks for the gallery as well as commissions for clients from large figurative wall pieces to hand made mug products.

I also built relationships with local, professional working artist exhibiting in our studio gallery as we offered a gathering place for creatives to sell art locally. I invited them into the studio as well to share their knowledge and expertise with the students, modeling the opportunities of the art world life.

In the teaching studio I taught all ages using my proven classical art training methods, creating a college-studio-type of experience for all ages in a “mosaic” of art mediums; how to draw, how to paint, and how to sculpt with clay with outstanding results.

Cherished memories of creating with new found friends over years of lessons and art camps has formed warm memories for all our artists.

A safe, encouraging art community was born, full of life transformation as our students experienced improved problem solving and focusing skills in their academics as these skills developed naturally within the studio art lessons.

Several students have become teachers, growing as artists themselves through impacting others with classical art skill training.

While the pandemic closed our brick-and-mortar doors in 2020, we continued creating live online as we sent students home with art kits to set up their home studios. Just a few months later in July we responded to an invite and filled the community art center gallery with 70 art works finished by our young artists from their home studios!

That year our students continued to place in competitions; students placed in Scholastic Art Awards with Honorable Mention, as well as placing in the k-12 Clay National Juried Exhibition as part of NECECA Annual Conference, receiving Honorable Mentions.

I also set up a home studio and began to work on drawings during quarantine; what has birthed in my studio from that creative time is my art series Angels in our Midst.

As 2020 unfolded, I decided to pursue my dream of expanding my business with building a new Ann Brucker Art website platform for selling my art works online as well as launching an online art mentoring product, and Master Artist Membership was born.

My first goal was to bring the same life transformation occurring through my clients’ commissions as well as students inside the local teaching studio, into my new online communities.

About the same time I created a home studio and began working on creating a new series of inspirational drawings in my Awaken Journals. I eventually added Giclee printing on canvases to make my work more accessible to my current and new collectors both locally and online with my new Ann Brucker Art website.

I have new collectors investing in my Midst of Angels canvas art prints, sharing how they are experiencing new beauty and inspiration on the walls of their homes.

My passion with Master Artist Membership is to train up artists and equip them to create provision for themselves;

-First by strengthening their art skills and productivity

-Secondly, guiding them to impact their community with their art works

-Thirdly, using their experience to impact the next generation through teaching in homeschools, schools, ministries, or personal workshops locally and online.

Master Artist Members, many still working full time, have returned to their dreams of engaging in their art making from their home studios, revisiting their passion, engaging in local art challenge exhibits and art walks, encouraging and experiencing community and accountability with one another.
